Wedding Registry Tips
I wasn’t really sure where to start for a wedding registry but definitely learned some tips to try and make the process go smooth and wanted to share with you all. From talking with my mom, friends, and family I have gotten a lot of feedback and I hope you find these tips I learned along the way helpful.
- Start early and get it done. You’d be surprised how many people find and send you registry gifts even before your shower. Some people love to plan and check for a wedding website as soon as you get engaged.
- Go in person, even though most stores have you add items on their app and don’t have a cool scanner anymore. It definitely helps to see things in person and to make sure you truly love the item. Items such as place settings, utensils, towels, silverware etc. you will want to see and feel in person to check quality.
- Add different stores because the older relatives love to use coupons, think Bed Bath & Beyond or Macy’s.
- Variety of price points. It’s smart to have a variety of price points because your guests will appreciate that based on what their budget is. Some like to buy big ticket items as a group gift or make a basket out of a few smaller items. It just allows more opportunities for your guests to get you items within their budget.
- You don’t need the china. Unless you plan on hosting dinner parties weekly I truly don’t believe you need to register for china. I suggest registering for quality beautiful everyday plates and bowls that can be dressed up for special dinners or holidays. Most people advised me to not register for china because they barely used theirs over the years. If having china is important to you though then I would definitely register for it! Again, these are just things I found while I made my own registry and every couple is different.
