Dood it's Dog Tips

My Pupford Training Review

If you’ve been following me for a while you know I’ve mentioned Pupford and their training classes with Zak George. As soon as we brought Charlie home, Pupford entered our lives. I was an overwhelmed first-time dog mom and their training videos and treats helped me shape Charlie into the good boy that he is today. At Pupford their mission is to empower you to create a healthier and happier relationship with your pup. Keep reading to see my review on Pupford and why I think it will be the right choice for you and your pup!

When we brought Charlie home we didn’t know really where to begin or how to approach training. We found Pupford through numerous Google searches on How to Train Your Dog. After extensive research (because I’m an overbearing dog mom 🤣), the 30-day perfect pup program led by Zak George seemed like the best option for us. They even have a free app! Their approach seemed simple, easy, and most of all the least intrusive and minimally aversive.

We began training Charlie with the basic commands like sit, down, stay, and leave it. Pupford didn’t overcomplicate training and I actually saw results fast. I felt like I was connecting with Charlie too during our training sessions. He obviously nailed all the commands because he’s the smartest boy 💁🏼‍♀️

Once we had a solid foundation of commands down it was time to battle the dreaded puppy biting. I recommend their video on “How to Overcome Problem Biting”. Charlie was SUCH a biter when he was a puppy.  He would never destroy toys but he would ALWAYS bite our hands. I cried so many times over how often he bit me. I thought I’d never be able to overcome it and I’d have a piranha dog forever.

Despite it all, we stuck with the only FOUR MINUTE video on how to help redirect Charlie and it ended up being a LIFE SAVER on curbing his biting problem. Pupford and Zak George provided so many good tips on how to redirect Charlie and consistency was the key for correcting this behavior.

If you are new to being a dog parent or just want to tighten up some commands and behavior issues, I stand by Pupford training. It provided me with the foundation I needed in order to make Charlie the best pup he is today. I’ve recommended their training to so many of my friends and I recommend it to YOU. This dog parent community is like family to me and I love sharing tips and tricks that have helped make being a dog mom easier.

I have learned so much from Pupford, Zak George, and utilizing the free app. Through all the tears and moments of success during my training with Pupford, I’ve found four key elements that have helped me the most with Charlie. Below you will find my four tips to help you with your training!

1. Start small: Don’t overwhelm your dog with multiple tricks at once. Once they master one-trick move on to the next.

2. Stay consistent: Make sure you practice a little each day until your dog is comfortable with the trick. Also, make sure that if you are training within a family you all use the same cues, so you do not confuse your dog!

3. Use high reward treats: I tend to gravitate toward healthy single ingredient treats for training. Pupford has a wonderful line of training treats that are single ingredient, freeze-dried, and the perfect size. Use DOODITSCHARLIE10 for 10% off that is good until Nov 30th, 2021

4. Patience: Puppy training is never easy, but it is important to remember this is all new for your new furry family member too!

I hope you find my review on Pupford training helpful if you are looking for easy ways to train at home!
