Mask Skin Care

Since COVID-19 exploded within the US, nurses have been wearing masks for 12 hours straight for MONTHS. With that came acne and clogged pores that raged on our faces. With a lot of states putting in place mandatory face coverings when in public, I’m sure a lot of the general public will experience it too. I had a poll on my Instagram story last month if you guys wanted to see what I have been using for my mask skin care routine and 89% of you said “Yes!”. I am no means a skin care expert, but this just seemed to work for my combination skin to help treat and prevent breakouts.

Facial Cleansing:

  • 1. Boscia Detoxifying Charcoal Cleanser: I would use this in the morning and night on the days I was working. It also warms while your rubbing it on your face that I enjoyed!
  • 2. Tula pro-glycolic 10% resurfacing toner: This toner I felt just kept my skin and pores super clean and face feeling fresh. I use it day and night.
  • 3. Summer Fridays CC Me Vitamin C Serum: I thought this serum helped to brighten my dull masked skin that saw no daylight for 12 hours. It also helps to lock in moisture. I used this morning and night.
  • 4. Tula 24-7 Hydrating Day and Night Cream: This moisturizer was light enough and not greasy feeling to keep my skin hydrated. My skin has tendencies to get greasy and oily if the moisturizer isn’t right. I did not have any issues with oil when using this one!
  • 5. Tula Go away acne spot treatment: When I developed a pimple despite all these products, I used this spot treatment. A little goes A LONG WAY. I used too much one night and I woke up with flakey red skin (pimple was gone but the spot ended up being SUPER dried up) so use SPARINGLY. Works great though to tackle problem areas.

Masks:

  • 1. Wander Beauty Baggage Claim Eye Masks: These eye masks have been the only ones I notice any difference in my eye bags with. As soon as I take them off I feel my eyes look instantly brighter. They also are gold foil so you feel boujee AF while wearing them. 10/10 recommend. I use these twice a week.
  • 2. Summer Fridays Overtime Mask: My sister-in-law sent me this mask and I love it. It is a gentle exfoliating mask that you then leave on for 10 minutes. It just makes my skin look brighter after using it while scrubbing away all the dead skin cells and bacteria festering under my mask all day. I would use this twice-three times a week.
  • 3. Aria Starr Dead Sea Mud Mask: I use this mask once a week to really deep clean my pores. I swear it has been keeping my adult mask acne in check by pulling everything out of my pores.
